Personal branding can get pretty intricate. Although your brand is all about you, that doesn’t mean you’re ready to go on day one. Like any other brand, your brand needs to center around hard work and creative concepts with tangible deliverables every step of the way. A cohesive story helps you empathize with your tribe members – understanding where they come from in order to show them where they can go.

However, its equally important to keep your personality in mind in every aspect to really attract the tribe you are looking for – a tribe that cares about you.

Here’s the truth.

You have a story. Better yet, you have an interesting story. And all you need to do is pinpoint what that story is to attract your tribe.

Your story is what motivates you to pursue your brand. Whether you’re an aspiring author or a seasoned CEO, your story is what brings you back to your passion every time you drift away.

Each of us has our own set of life experiences that have shaped us into the people we are today. Through each of our unique experiences, we develop a personality that attracts like-minded people to us and a story that keeps us grounded. So use those features in every aspect of your brand! Tell your story in a beautiful and concise way to entice your tribe, gain new members, and expand friendships.

No one else can tell your story like you can. So take an hour or so to put it down on paper (or Microsoft Word?). This will really help you develop a cohesive story that can be expanded or refined, depending on your situation.

It’s not that complicated.

Just be yourself.

There is no other person in this world like you – so use that to your advantage! Invite your tribe into your morning routine through a Snapchat story, share a funny grocery store encounter on Facebook, or poll your audience on which outfit you should wear through an Instagram story. Believe it or not, your tribe wants to hear about all of this from you. They want to dive into your life for a few moments of their day because they care about you.

There’s two sides to this coin, of course. Don’t just share the good – because we all know that is not your reality. Everyone has bad days, so share them when they come! Doing this will allow your tribe to connect with you on a more personal level.

Build a strategy around your personality.

Once you have a firm grasp of your story, plan out how you’ll tell it through an effective content roadmap. This can be as simple as a schedule of social media posts that you keep on your calendar or in your planner.

Developing a comprehensive content roadmap for about three months into the future will help you tell your story in the most effective way. Should you write an elongated Facebook post about your story? Or should you tell a bit about your story every week on Instagram stories? That is completely up to you! Consider your audience and the platforms they use to communicate with you to pick the best method of showing the world who you are.
