The 2 Most Important Questions To Ask Yourself

Welcome to the 33rd edition of From V to You, a weekly letter of inspiration, tips, tricks, and behind-the-scenes of how I’m building a business around my personal brand so you can too. If you’ve missed the previous letters, you can always read them here.

I want you to know that this letter is the most valuable letter I’ve ever written to you to date. To me, the teaching I’m about to share with you is all that you’ll ever need when it comes to anything you do in growing your business. Period.

Let me explain.

I barely just got home Friday night around midnight, after spending 3 days in Milwaukee, co-coaching 14 aspiring speakers on how to develop a signature talk (an amazing presentation that converts every time).

These business professionals included a nuclear physicist that launched rockets into space, a network marketer that paid $250k to be one of the first civilians in space on Richard Branson’s Virgin Galatic (alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Ashton Kutcher, etc.), the UK’s “CEO of the Year” in 2019, “Triathlete of the Year” by the U.S. Olympic Committee, a couple that built a $100 million business, and normal entrepreneurs like you and me.

Ya…I know. CRAZY.

And yet regardless of their success, achievement, and extraordinary credibility, they ALL wrestled with TWO questions we asked at the start of the first day for each workshop we conducted. So I’m going to ask you the same questions we asked them.

Ready?

  1. Who is your audience?
  2. What problem do YOU solve for them?

That’s it.

And as simple as those questions seem to be on the surface, their answers are all that matter when it comes to developing a 6-figure signature talk, finalizing the agenda of your mastermind, packaging your product for the market, putting together your sales proposals, writing your next book, growing your business, becoming a thought leader, etc.

  1. Who are you talking to?
  2. What problem are you solving for them?

And here’s where everyone gets it wrong…

  1. You are not allowed to answer “EVERYONE” for the first question. No single message can be an answer for everyone. Hasn’t worked for religion, won’t work for your business either. And if you answered – entrepreneurs, business owners, women, or people that don’t know they have a problem… you’re still missing it.
  2. Solutions aren’t problems. Most will answer question #2 with a solution but that’s not the question. They don’t need clarity, a positive mindset, better sleep, a personal brand, and better collaboration with other departments in the company. I mean yes they need those things, but that’s not THEIR problem. That’s your solution for a problem you can’t verbalize in their language yet. What problem do they have? What keeps them up at night? What do they vent about to their partners at night? And how do they say it???

There’s so much more I could share with you about all of this (I’m already thinking up my next free masterclass for you! 😉), but in an effort to keep these emails reasonable in length, I’ll leave you with this:

Do you want to crush your goals, achieve your aspirations, serve another, and change the world??

TALK TO PEOPLE HOW THEY TALK TO YOU

Use their common language, verbalize their problem, and do everything you can to solve it!

Sometimes in an effort to be extraordinary, we forget what it feels like to be loved by someone who ordinary just like us.
