Welcome to the 32nd edition of From V to You, a weekly letter of inspiration, tips, tricks, and behind-the-scenes of how I’m building a business around my personal brand so you can too. If you’ve missed the previous letters, you can always read them here.
What a week! What a night on Thursday!
Just in case you weren’t watching or don’t know what I’m talking about, on Thursday night, my mentors, Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi went live to 440,000 people!
I’ve done live online trainings before, and I get super nervous for 500 attendees so I can’t even imagine over 400,000!
Of course, as one of their speakers, I knew what they were going to share because I’ll be sharing the same message on stages throughout the world in 2020. And it’s a message that I believe every single person needs to hear in their lifetime.
They shared how they’ve impacted millions and made millions by sharing what they know and have learned through experience, trials, and other experts. And it’s not the making millions part that I care about…
It’s about impacting other people.
If you’ve been following me for a while now, you KNOW how deeply I care about serving others and owning your brand.
Back in From V To You #19, I defined your brand like this:
Your Brand = Your Empathetic Calling to Help Others + The Promise(s) You’re Willing to Make to Those You Serve
This is EVERYTHING TO ME.
It’s exactly why I’ve become such an advocate, follower, student of people like Tony Robbins, Dean Graziosi, and Jenna Kutcher. They are using their brands to help other people get ahead, turn their mess into a message, and create fellow servant leaders. To now call them my peers…there are no words.
I want you to know that I know them. I know their mission. I know the conviction behind what they’re doing.
But some of the comments during the live cast absolutely broke my heart.
Comment after comment was from attendees who didn’t know how valiant and needed they are in this world!!
So many people doubted whether or not anyone else could benefit from their words, their teachings, their contribution. They didn’t believe they had VALUE to give that was uniquely their own. They didn’t see themselves as experts, messengers, reporters, brokers, etc.
Those are all just labels, but at the heart of it, they didn’t think they were special enough to serve 😞
NO NO NO NO
Damn you again Becky!
“Becky” is the voice in my head that tells me I’m not good enough, not original enough, not popular enough to make it. And apparently, Becky is ruining other people’s potential too.
I want to extend a simple challenge to you RIGHT NOW.
It’s a challenge Jenna Kutcher extended in this AMAZING clarity video that you should absolutely watch before it expires:
Prove it to yourself that you are special, you do have others in your life that want what you have or know, and you are a vessel for a message that needs to be shared.
CHALLENGE – Go to your Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Twitter right now and ask the question:
“Hey! If I were to do a class on [your talent, ability, knowledge, training] for $20, would you be interested in attending? Feel free to direct message if you are.”
Validate your idea. Validate your potential. If anything, just to prove it to yourself.
For example, my sister knows how to garden so well, she also knows how to sign language, and she’s a sneaky good organizer. Totally unrelated things, but any of those talents could be her social post test. Just to give you an idea, I’d pay her $20 to teach me how to grow herbs in my kitchen!
As you extend those challenges on social today and tomorrow, email me back a link to your post. I’ll give it some love and share it with others on my platforms 😉
